Police reports


• Damage to vehicles, caused by an air rifle, was discovered Tuesday at a local auto business, according to Mount Airy Police Department reports. The incident occurred at Martin’s Sales on North Franklin Road, involving windshield damage totaling $750 to a 2006 Lincoln Continental, 2004 Toyota and 1995 Oldsmobile.

• Sophia Nicole Cifuentes, 28, of 160 Calvary Drive, was cited for larceny Thursday at Food Lion on South Andy Griffith Parkway, where she allegedly took items valued at $21, including bacon, grape jelly, cheese, peanut butter, frozen pops and orange juice. Cifuentes is to be in Surry District Court on July 25.

• Violations of larceny and possession of stolen goods were issued Wednesday against Kristie Mechelle Krantz, 40, of 211 Academy St., Pilot Mountain, after she allegedly took unspecified items valued at $60 from Food Lion on West Pine Street. Krantz is to be in District Court on Oct. 12.

• Ann Utt Martin, 45, of 196 Wildlife Club Road, Lowgap, was served Tuesday with a warrant for a larceny offense after she was encountered by police as a suspicious person on North Main Street at Jones School Road. Martin was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond to appear in District Court on Aug. 23 on the larceny offense that had been issued Monday, for which no details were given.

• Destany Nicole Childress, 27, of 2499 S. Main St., is facing violations of larceny and aiding and abetting a larceny issued Monday. Childress was encountered by police that day at Food Lion on West Lebanon Street, where she allegedly took Huggies diapers with a total value of $57 and also was found to have a warrant out for her on the aiding and abetting offense, for which no details were listed. She is free on a written promise to be in District Court on Aug. 23.

• Betty Ann Cochran, 41, of 329 Atkins Lane, was charged with hit and run, driving while impaired, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance (Xanax), possession of drug paraphernalia and having an open container of alcohol on June 15 after the investigation of a late-night traffic collision on North South Street. Cochran is free on a written promise to appear in court on Aug. 10.
