DOBSON — The first event for a farm doubling as a banquet center is right around the corner.
The Barn at Heritage Farm will host a wedding exposition on Sept. 3. The event begins at 10 a.m. and will wrap up at 2 p.m. Admission is free.
The wedding expo will be the first event for the Heritage Barn, which is set to soon begin hosting weddings. The expo will play host to more than 30 vendors, including photographers, caterers, florists and wedding planers.
Heritage Barn owner John Jonczak said the event will be a one-stop-shop for anybody planning a wedding.
According to Jessica Jonczak, there will be refreshments available for purchase at the event, and Piney Grove Baptist Church will be at the expo raising money for the church’s youth group.
While large events like Sept. 3’s wedding expo, weddings and other events are likely to become common at the family-owned venue near Dobson, Jessica Jonczak said the barn is still an agricultural facility.
At the expo there will feature a scenic agricultural setting, with bales of hay and farming equipment littered about. Those interested able to sign up to join Heritage Farm’s waiting list to receive emails about when produce, including eggs and honey, will be available for purchase.
John Jonczak said the wedding expo is the first public event the barn will host. A grand opening is being planned, and then the venue will begin hosting weddings and other events.
The Barn at Heritage Farm is located near Dobson at 152 Heritage Farm Lane, off of Caves Mill Road.
