Meredith Key Stanley and Jarod Simmons were united in marriage at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Moore’s Springs Manor in Westfield. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. Eugene Sherrill, former pastor of the bride.
The bride is the daughter of Randel L. and Paula K. Stanley of Pilot Mountain. She is the granddaughter of Myrtle H. Key and the late Paul D. Key of Ararat, and the late Oscar and Dorothy Stanley of Dobson.
She is a graduate of East Surry High School and Greensboro College where she received a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She is manager of investor relations with Bell Partners Inc. of Greensboro.
The groom is the son of Dr. L. Dean and Carole Simmons of Mount Airy. He also is the grandson of the late Calvin and Lettie Woodruff, and the late James and Hulda Simmons of Mount Airy.
He is a graduate of Mount Airy High School and Virginia Tech University where he received a bachelor of science degree in construction management. He also received his MBA from High Point University. He is owner of Simcon Construction Co. in Mount Airy.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Randel L. Stanley.
The maid of honor was the brides’ sister, Rebekah Jane Stanley of Carrboro.
The bridesmaids were Margot Childs Stanley, sister-in-law of the bride, of Raleigh, Leah Taylor Hauser of Mount Airy, Sarah Walters Hunter of Pilot Mountain, Elizabeth Anne Folger of Greensboro, and Margaret Elaine Deal of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Junior bridesmaids were nieces of the groom, Chloe Rose Simmons of Dobson and Kylie Nicole Simmons of Mount Airy.
The best man was the grooms’ father, Dr. L. Dean Simmons.
The groomsmen were Seth Jason Simmons, brother of the groom, William Paul Stanley, the bride’s brother, Dr. Mark Garrett Hauser, Stephen Ward Fussell Jr., and Wesley Keith Bowman, all of Mount Airy, and Christopher Jason Dudley of King.
Music was provided by Ken Bloom and Andy Edmonds of Pilot Mountain.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dance was held at Moore’s Springs Manor featuring Hot Sauce Band of Charlotte. The reception was catered by Artists Way of Danbury.
The parents of the groom held a rehearsal dinner by the pool at Moore’s Springs Manor. The food was provided by Let’s Partea and LáTeah Santucci. Country music was provided by Will Jones of Mount Airy and Lacy Green of Nashville, Tenn.
The couple honeymooned in the Dominican Republic following the wedding.
