Carol “Carrie” Winslow Crawley and Ryan Guerra Strohl, both of Arlington, Va., tied the knot at 5:30 p.m. on June 29, 2013, at The Village Chapel in Pinehurst. Ashley Neil Smith and Craig J. Lister officiated.
The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Oliver Crawley Jr. of Sanford. The bride’s grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Oliver Crawley Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Rex William Mann.
The bride graduated from Lee County High School in 2001. She received a bachelor of science in elementary education in 2005 and a master of science in counselor education in 2008, both from East Carolina University. She is a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. She is employed as a teacher for the Arlington Public Schools.
The groom’s parents are Bruce and Ellie Strohl of Mount Airy. His grandparents are Consuelo and Edwin Strohl, and the late Margaret and Gerald Muething.
The groom graduated from Long Reach High School in Columbia, Md., in 2000. He earned a bachelor of fine arts in graphic design in 2004 from East Carolina University. He was a member of the ECU cross-country team. He now is employed by Delucchi Plus s a senior art director in Washington, D.C.
The bride was given in marriage by her father, Rufus Oliver Crawley.
The bridge wore a silk duchess gown designed by Paloma Blanca which featured a sweetheart neckline with a crossover-pleated bodice, an A-line skirt and a cathedral train. The gown was accented by a beaded ribbon sash at the waist. She also wore an ivory-colored tulle fingertip veil with scattered rhinestones.
The matron of honor was Lauren Bradley Jenkins of Fayetteville.
The maid of honor was Lindsey Leigh Chandler of Kitty Hawk.
The bridesmaids were Kimberly Nell Carusi of Herndon, Va., and Carolyn Hunt Byrnes of Wilmington.
The best man was Matthew Joseph Hanlon of Silver Spring, Md.
The groomsmen were William Oliver Crawley of Rocky Mount, Vance Alan Stephenson of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Kyle Robert Yunaska of Arlington, Va.
The ushers were Matthew Anthony Gorman of Falls Church, Va., and Jimmy Lee Sprinkle of Arlington, Va.
Other attendants included the reader, Erin Elizabeth Keith, of Wilmington, and greeters, Krestin Joy Barnes of Greenville, Emily Scott Jessup of Chapel Hill, and Emily Reneé Robinson of Wilmington.
The organist was John W. Shannon. The violinist was Karen Lewis.
The reception was hosted by the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Oliver Crawley Jr, in the Carolina Hall and Terrace at the Pinehurst Resort.
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by Bruce and Ellie Strohl and was held at the Fair Barn in Pinehurst. It was catered by Trio Restaurant in Mount Airy.
The couple took their wedding trip to Saint Lucia.
They will reside in Arlington, Va.
