Fire and emergency officials are on the scene of a grass fire they say is threatening “four of five structures.”
The fire, located around Marshburn and White Dirt roads, was reported around 2 p.m., according to officials at the county emergency communications center.
According to Forest Ranger Brian Elam, the fire had not destroyed any structures, but its location made fighting it difficult.
“We have about four or five structure threatened, but so far none are burned. The location makes them hard to get to,” he said shortly after 4 p.m.
County Emergency Services Director John Shelton said the forest service was in charge of the scene.
