To the Editor,
In response to the Surry County Animal Shelter (Gary Brown) killing the group of pups before rescue group could pick them up on Monday May 19 2014 — he needs to be terminated immediately.
Too much goes on there that the public has no clue about. Our county commissioners need to step up. Yes, I understand Samantha Ange is over the animal director at shelter but the county commissioners are over her. Maybe the board of directors need to do something here.
I don’t have an answer I’m looking for help for these animals and what we have working over there is not the answer either. Let’s see what you do on this situation. I am fed up with Samantha saying we are overpopulated as reason for euthanizing so many animals at Surry County Animal Shelter.
Not all the truth here, I know for a fact rescue groups were sent out an email about these particular pups that Gary Brown put down same day. The email was sent out Friday morning and the pups was killed later that day. A rescue group was going to pick up on Monday morning.
What a shame that we as citizens have to keep seeing this happening and no one in the right position is doing anything about it. Makes me believe someone is not looking after the welfare of the animals here.
