Taking your business global topic of Friday lunch talk
By John Peters
In the never-ending battle by businesses to find more outlets for their goods and services, another tool in their arsenal might be pursuing markets outside of the United States.
That will be the topic of discussion Friday during the Surry Global Initiative lunch, to be held at noon at Cross Creek Country Club.
Put together by the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce, the gathering will feature Tony Almeida, the senior advisor for jobs and economy to Gov. Pat McCrory.
Also scheduled to be on hand are representatives from the North Carolina Department of Commerce International Trade Division and the U.S. Department of Commerce-Export Assistance Center.
The lunch is $10, and seats should be reserved by calling Tanya Taylor at the local chamber office at 786-6116, ext. 4.
The event is sponsored by Duke Energy, CenturyLink, and Surrey Bank and Trust.
