• A Mount Airy teen has been cited for shoplifting/concealment in connection with a recent incident at the Sheetz convenience store, according to city police department reports. Chris Allen Roberts, 17, of 333 Riverside Drive, is accused of concealing Monster Energy drinks at the business on U.S. 601 on Nov. 30 and is scheduled to appear in Surry District Court on Jan. 7.


• A larceny occurred at Kmart on Nov. 29, which involved someone grabbing a Huffy Green Machine tricycle and running out of the garden center entrance of the store. The tricycle is valued at $110.


• Property damage estimated at $1,000 was discovered on Nov. 25 at a site at 839 Reeves Drive, where the names or initials “M.S.” “Stag” and “Hawk” were painted on a building and other property owned by W.P. Simmons Inc. Also listed as damaged were granite slabs and a forklift.


• Police were told on Nov. 25 that known individuals had sold stolen property to Tarheel Converter and Core, a Hay Street business, on Oct. 31. The sum of money obtained was undisclosed.
