• A Mount Airy man has been arrested for allegedly discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, according to city police department reports. Justin Michael Kenney, 27, of 330 Pippin St., who was charged with the felony offense Friday, is accused of shooting into a home on West Church Street. Kenney also was charged with discharging a firearm in the city limits. He was confined in the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond and is to appear in District Court on June 30.

• A larceny was discovered Monday at the residence of Betty Ridolfi on Marion Street, where a red metal lawn chair valued at $50 was removed from the front yard.

• A driving while impaired violation was filed Tuesday night against Jenna Leigh Jordan, 27, of 1010 Siloam Road, on Willow Street near West Pine Street, after a traffic-crash investigation. Jordan is free on a written promise to appear in District Court on Aug. 28.

• Cody Lee Stewart, 22, of 319 Jefferies St., was charged last Thursday with larceny and possession of stolen goods, stemming from the theft of a Samsung Galaxy s5 cell phone valued at $642 from an unidentified local business. Stewart is slated for a July 8 court appearance.

• William Jacob Arnett, 18, of 309 Hadley St., was cited for second-degree trespassing after being observed on June 11 at Riverside Park, from which he had been banned by a police officer two days earlier. Arnett is scheduled to be in District Court on Oct. 29.

• Shane Daniel Olsen, 20, of Cana, Va., was cited for second-degree trespassing at Riverside Park on June 11 and also was taken into custody for allegedly failing to appear in court. Olsen was jailed under a $3,500 secured bond, with an Aug. 30 court date set.

• Police were told on May 31 that the wallet of Charles Joseph Masula of Wilmington had been stolen from his 2002 GMC Sierra pickup while parked at Walmart. The loss included Wells Fargo debit and credit cards, a driver’s license, vehicle registration and an insurance card.

• A cell phone owned by Ana Gabriela Ibarra of Olivia Avenue, identified as an iPhone valued at $200, was stolen on May 31 at Bonnie Lou’s Flea Market on Carter Street.

• Also on May 31, the license plate, number CCY9518, was stolen from a 1994 Chevrolet Camaro owned by Santana Georgette Leigh Lawson, a Brooklyn Avenue resident, while the car was in a driveway on West Lebanon Street near Willow Street.

• Merchandise valued at $990 was reported missing on May 30 at Kmart, including a Kenmore air-conditioner, Coleman air mattress, a tent and batteries, which had been taken on May 22 by unknown suspects.

• In another incident reported the same day at Kmart, police were told that an unknown suspect had stolen 31 containers of Tide washing detergent valued at $366 from the store two days earlier.

• Rocky Lee Hawks, 28, of 2112 Springs Road, was cited for concealment/shoplifting after a May 30 incident at Walmart, involving $121 worth of miscellaneous grocery items and boys’ clothing. The property was returned to the store undamaged and Hawks is scheduled to be in Surry District Court on July 9.
