EAST BEND — East Surry faced its second loss on the road this week, losing to South Stokes on Monday and Forbush on Tuesday.

Forbush won 2-1 over the Cards, getting their only goal in the second half.

Brayan Gomez scored the goal against Forbush.

South Stokes won by a 3-2 score over East Surry on Monday.

On Tuesday, Assistant Coach Andrew Jones said the Cards lost to a tough opponent in Forbush.

He said they will meet another tough opponent, Surry Central, on Thursday and are looking to win. The game will be at Surry Central.

The Cards lost against Central in an earlier match this season.

Against Forbush, Jones said the Cards had a little trouble connecting in the first half, but played hard in the second.

Jones said, though it was a tough loss, the Cardinals left with confidence and will be ready on Thursday.
