PILOT MOUNTAIN —The Lady Cards volleyball beat Alleghany 3-0 in a scrappy win.

Head Coach Caleb Gilley said, “I feel like it is a very good non-conference win for us.”

Kacie Markle and Kristel Hicinbothem both had good nights finding holes in the defense, said Gilley.

Olivia Sheets started as a setter and Libero Sydney Mosley are looking more comfortable out there, the coach said.

The coach said the passing was on it and it made everybody’s job a little easier.

Karli Fulp and Hayley Whitaker and Sydney Marion all got in playing time. “All three are great kids and they work extremely hard. I love getting them in to see what they can do,” said Gilley.

The team won a conference game against the Bears on Tuesday.

Against the Trojans, Jesse Barr had four digs, Sydney Mosley 13 digs, Gabi Jessup, three kills and two aces, Cheyenne Kota had three kills, five digs and three aces.

Kristel Hicinbothem had 12 kills, six digs, and four aces. Olivia Sheets recorded two kills and 30 assists.

Kacie Markle had 11 kills and 7 digs. Karli Fulp had one ace, Jesse Marion had one kill and two aces.

The team went 57/62 in serves against Alleghany.

They will play Atkins away today.
