After missing out on a few early corner kicks, the Lady Cardinals finally broke through with a couple of goals to defeat North Surry on Thursday.

East Surry kept the pressure on the Lady Greyhounds, but struggled to get shots on target off set plays.

North keeper Grace Swift made some saves to keep the match scoreless until Mary Jo Lowe broke through for a goal.

Then Maria Mares fed Briana Atwell for a score to make it 2-0.

The Hounds next host East Wilkes on Monday, while the Cards host Bishop McGuinness on Tuesday.
