Reader takes issue with drinking

To the Editor,

What Is Next?

We once had Blue Laws, could not sell beer or wine on Sundays. Then they started selling on Sundays. Once you could not drink on Main Street, but at our Autumn Leaves Festival and Bud Festival it is alright to drink it, which I opposed greatly. I don’t go to these events, it has not hurt the crowd any.

I went in to Lowes Grocery Store Tuesday and they had cup containers on their shopping carts, I thought that was nice I could put my coffee cup in it, (Not) when I found out it was for their beer and wine cups. Yes you can drink while you shop. What if you have a two- or three-year-kid in the buggy and while you are looking around and they drink it.

What kind of examples are we setting for our kids?

We in Mount Airy just have another beer joint in our town. We don’t need it.

I am asking all Christians to boycott Lowes Food until they stop drinking in the store. I was asked why I was doing this. We Christians have stood back and done nothing long enough.

What is next, teachers drinking at school, the police drinking before going on duty, etc.

Stand back Christians and do nothing and see what they do next.

Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
