LOWGAP — Mrs. Joyce Bryant Carson, 68, of 863 Carson Creek Road, Lowgap, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Carson was born April 18, 1944, in Carroll County, Va., to the late Roy Sidney and Ollie Burcham Bryant. She was employed at NCNB Bank (Toast Branch) and later was part owner and operator of Carson Greens. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Tony Ramey of Lowgap; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Antonio “Tony” and Sarah Carson of Lowgap; three grandchildren, Charles Joseph “C.J.” Carson, Carson Gray Ramey and Caleb William Ramey; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and McKinley Richardson of Lowgap and Sandra “Sandy” and Perry Sexton of Mt. Pleasant, Tenn.; one brother and sister-in-law, Andrew “Andy” and Stephanie Bryant of Buffalo Junction, Va.; a sister-in-law, Betty Miller and husband Richard of Edinburg, Va.; three nephews; four nieces; seven great-nieces; seven great-nephews; two stepgrandsons, Reid and Amanda Vernon and their children daughter Lynsey and son Liam and Garrett and Elizabeth Vernon and their daughter Emma; and one stepgranddaughter, Jessica Vernon. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church with services conducted by the Rev. Russell Parsons, the Rev. Joe Atkins and the Rev. Larry Jones with burial to follow in the Carson Hodges Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
