Not only will turkeys and stuffing be part of the Thanksgiving holiday period — it also will include scheduling changes for sanitation and other operations in Mount Airy.
No city residential garbage collections or recycling pickups will occur on Thanksgiving Day. Thursday’s routes will be run on Friday instead.
However, Friday’s residential route will be collected on schedule.
Industrial roll-off operations also will be affected by the holiday. The route normally run on Thursday is to be handled on Friday, while Friday’s industrial roll-off route will observe a normal schedule.
Thursday’s and Friday’s commercial garbage collections also will occur as usual.
City government offices will be closed both Thursday and Friday in observance of the holiday.
