MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Jody Alan Davis, 25, of Mount Airy, passed away on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, in Surry County. He was born in Surry County on Dec. 28, 1986, to Glenn and Jan Davis. He was a graduate of Surry Central High School, worked for Samuel Johnson Construction and was a member of Blues Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are his parents, Glenn and Jan Davis of the home; one sister, Jessie Jewell Davis of the home; one brother and sister-in-law, Jamie Glen and Brandy Davis of Dobson; one special niece, Adelynn Grace Davis; his grandmother, Mary Davis of Mount Airy; girlfriend, Hanna Tilley of Dobson; several aunts, uncles and cousins; also his special pets Maggie, Cooper and Clyde. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Wayne and Margie Dollyhigh Whitaker, and Arvey Esker Davis. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at Blues Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Sammy Lawson and the Rev. Ricky Thomas will conduct the services.
