MOUNT AIRY — Mrs. Brenda Patricia “Pat” Key Bobbitt Hatfield, 71, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Hatfield was born in Surry County on April 27, 1941, to David Robert and Ollie Mae Potts Key. She enjoyed the outdoors, going camping and working with her flowers in her yard as long as her health permitted. She was retired from Surry Industries and was a faithful member of Gospel Mission Church. Surviving are her husband, Charles Hatfield of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Sue Bobbitt of Westfield; a sister and brother-in-law, Imogene and Roland Chilton of Pilot Mountain; and a brother and sister-in-law, Gray and Marie Key of Westfield. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hatfield was preceded in death by a brother, Grover Key. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Gospel Mission Church in Flat Rock. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at the church by the Rev. Ken Young and Bro. Don Collins. Burial will follow in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.
