To the Editor:

On Jan. 7, my wife and I were enroute to Florida from our home in Ohio. At the N.C. welcome center I noticed transmission fluid pooled under my pick up truck carrying our camper. I immediately headed for the nearest town. Fortunately for me that was Mount Airy. I stopped at the first auto parts store I saw. Again fortunately for me that was O'reilly Automotive. I had determined my transmission pan had a small rust hole and needed replaced.

The counter man at O'reilly told me that was a dealer item, but he was not done with me. He made a call to Mount Airy Dodge to try to find the part. He went out of his way to set things up for me and sent me directly to the dealer. At Mount Airy Dodge we ordered the part which would not be in till the next morning. The service manager there directed me to the Mayberry Campground where we spent a comfortable night. Early the next morning Mount Airy Dodge worked my truck into a busy schedule and we were back on the road by 10 a.m.

If the people at O'reilly, Mount Airy Dodge, and Mayberry Campground are typical of the people of Mount Airy, you are a special place! Everyone we met was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Your concern and kindness turned what could have been a vacation disaster into a minor inconvenience. We sincerely thank you.

Sincerely,

Rod and Sharon Warner
