DOBSON — Another light agenda faces the Surry County Board of Commissioners when the board meets for its regularly scheduled meeting Monday night.
The meeting will get under way at 6 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Meeting Room of the county’s Government Center in Dobson.
Following approval of the consent agenda and open forum, the board is expected to receive an update on a proposal presented by Mountain River Trucking Co., to rezone property at Holly Springs Road/Reeves Mill Road from residential to manufacturing.
The board will then hear an update on the county’s aging population by Adrienne Calhoun, assistant director of the Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging.
The update will be followed by general county business presented by County Manager Chris Knopf, and any matters brought before the board by county commissioners.
Board members also are expected to recognize the Ararat Volunteer Fire Department and workers with the county’s Special Olympics program.
