Sales totaled 224 head, including cattle (189), goats (23) and hogs (12) during Tuesday’s sales at Mount Airy Stockyards Inc.

Animals sold on the livestock market, based on 100-pound weights, were:

- Slaughter cows: breakers, utility and commercial, $42-$47; cutter and boning, $34-$48.50; canner and low cutter, $27-$35.

- Slaughter bulls: 1,000-1,500 pounds, $50-$51.50.

- Stock cows: too few.

- Cow/calf pairs: $710-$730.

- Baby calves: $7.50-$37.50.

- Feeder steers and bulls: 300-400 pounds, (Holsteins) $52-$57.50; 400-500 pounds, (small frame) $63-$74; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $84-$85; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $76-$83.

- Feeder heifers: 400-500 pounds, (M1) $80-$80.50, (small frame) $60-$71.50; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $70-$71.

- Goats: no numbers reported.
