Sales totaled 534 head, including cattle (525) and goats (9) during Tuesday’s sales at Mount Airy Stockyards Inc.

Animals sold on the livestock market, based on 100-pound weights, were:

- Slaughter cows: breakers, utility and commercial, $44-$50; cutter and boning, $40-$52.50; canner and low cutter, $32-$43.

- Slaughter bulls: 1,500 pounds and up, $56.50-$59.50.

- Stock cows: 1,050 pounds and up, (M1 & M2) $370-$630.

- Cow/calf pairs: $390-$840.

- Baby calves: $30-$70.

- Feeder steers and bulls: 200-300 pounds, (Holsteins) $83-$84; 300-400 pounds, (M1) $95-$104; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $90-$98, (small frame) $64-$85; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $85-$99, (small frame) $60-$79.50; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $80-$91; 700 pounds and up, (M1) $72-$79.75.

- Feeder heifers: 300-400 pounds, (small frame) $65-$79; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $77-$83, (small frame) $69-$77; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $77-$80, (small frame) $60-$77.

- Goats: too few.
