MOUNT AIRY — Mrs. Betty Jean Williams McCloud, 83, of 270 Paynetown Road, Mount Airy, wife of Mr. Douglas McCloud, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born Oct. 4, 1928, in Craighead County, Ark., to the late Robert and the late Ora Lee Moody Williams. She attended the Church of Christ, retired from General Motors Corporation and was a homemaker. Surviving are her husband, Douglas McCloud of the home; a daughter, Vicky Jo Ellis of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Betty Gibson of Bowling Green, Ky.; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Lisa Karen and Clyde Kelly of Flint Mich.; six granddaughters; one grandson; 20 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Freda Worley of Howell, Mich., and Patsy Rose of LaPier, Mich. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCloud was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Wayne Gibson; and two granddaughters, Lisa Bledsoe and Gina Jones. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 9, 2012, at Skyline Memory Gardens conducted by Dan Savoie.
