PILOT MOUNTAIN — Mrs. Peggy Elaine Arrington Phillips, 78, of Pilot Mountain, passed to be with Jesus Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born July 16, 1934, in Surry County to the late William C. Arrington and Eunice Ethel Collins Arrington. Mrs. Phillips was at first and foremost a loving mother and wife. She loved golfing and many other sports in her lifetime. She retired from Belk as a sales associate and loved always being with her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Roger Phillips of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Judith P. Donaldson (Alan) of Mooresville, Susan P. Vernon (Don) of Mocksville and Ginger P. Hundley (Bo) of Pilot Mountain; grandchildren, Ricky Lee Hinshaw Jr., Cheryl Rogers (Clay), Michael Hinshaw (Elaina) and Price Rush (Melissa); five great-grandchildren; sisters, Pattie Summerlin of Moorehead City, Phyllis Dollyhigh of Winston-Salem and Lana Iftner (Steve) of Winston-Salem; and brother, Banks Moorefield of Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at 3 p.m. at Howell-Nelson Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. David Christy. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forsyth Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
