• A Mount Airy man who allegedly was seen entering a neighbor’s home has been charged with a felony, according to city police department reports. Lawrence Lee Tate, 49, of 219 Rockford St., Apartment C, is accused in an incident Thursday night at the apartment of Diane Graham Fenton. Police records indicate that Fenton arrived at her home as Tate was attempting to enter it through a window. He was charged with felonious breaking and entering and larceny and is free on a written promise to appear in Surry District Court on Nov. 8.

• A motor vehicle break occurred Thursday at the residence of Jordan Terry Easter on Orchard Street, where a brick was thrown through the back glass of Easter’s 2003 Nissan Altima. This led to his wallet being taken from a console. The loss included $25 in cash, an OtterBox valued at $50, a driver’s license and a Social Security card.

• Police were told Thursday that a theft had occurred at the Mount Airy ABC Store on Starlite Road, where two people took a pint of Crown Royal whiskey valued at $15.

• Sherri O’Neal Fore, a Pioneer Drive resident, told police Wednesday that her cell phone had either been stolen or lost at Healthy Skin Shoppe on West Lebanon Street. The BlackBerry Curve model, black in color with a purple cover, is valued at $300.

• It was reported last Tuesday that the license plate of a 2005 Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle owned by Ronald Nelson Whitt of Janice Drive, number 4P4611, had been stolen while the bike was parked at Walmart.
