DOBSON — The 10th-annual Foothills Basketball Camp moves to Surry Community College this summer.

Kevin Spainhour directed the summer camp at Mount Airy High School when he was coaching there. Now that he is assistant principal at West Stokes, he said he has been fielding questions about whether there would be a camp this year.

While Mount Airy may or may not hold a camp of its own, Spainhour is proud of the new partnership with SCC.

“Foothills Basketball Camp has established itself as a great opportunity for young players to receive quality instruction within a fun-filled, competitive atmosphere that encourages positive character traits,” he said.

The camp runs June 10-13 for boys who will be entering the third through eighth grades.

Each day lasts from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Players will participate in fundamental stations, skill contests, camp records and league games. Early registration is $100.

Brochures with registration forms can be printed at www.foothillsbasketballschool.com or contact Kevin Spainhour at 336-971-7684 for more information.

New for this year is a girls’ camp in July.

The first-ever Foothills Basketball Girls Camp will be July 8-11 at West Stokes.
