DOBSON — The Small Business Center of Surry Community College will offer a bookkeeping basics for business owners: understanding financial statements on Sept. 13 from 6 to 9 p.m. in room J-114 on the college campus in Dobson. This informative seminar is offered at no cost to participants. Tony Williams, owner and president of Third Line Inc., will be the presenter for this seminar.
Some topics to be covered during the seminar include:
• the accounting process
• the basic equation
• double entry defined
• a look at financial statements
• using simple ratios for financial analysis
• understanding audits and auditors
• accounting ethics
This seminar will help business owners better understand financial statements as a resource for strengthening their business and for working with accounting professionals.
