MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Donald Gray Shelton II, 46, of 154 Pine Drive, Mount Airy, husband of Mrs. Robin Watson Shelton, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born June 27, 1963, in Surry County to Sarah Mae Whittington Shelton and the late Donald Gray Shelton. He was employed by Winston-Weaver Fertilizer Company and attended Holy Cross Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Robin W. Shelton of the home; two daughters, Sophia Shelton and Kayla Shelton, both of the home; mother, Sarah Mae Shelton of Mount Airy; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Henry Thompson, Sue and Ken Owens, Lynn and Roger Sawyers and Hope and Josh Pope, all of Mount Airy; two brothers, John and Joel Shelton of Mount Airy; 17 nieces and nephews; and 14 great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Holy Cross Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Mike Shelton and the Rev. Butch Holder. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Holy Cross Baptist Church, where his body will remain until the hour of the service.
