DOBSON — The Shelton Companies has sold its Dairy Queen Franchise at The Village Market at Shelton Vineyards to JED Food LLC. The new ownership will take over the operation today.

Mark Douthat is the chief manager of JED and serves as president of LSR Foods Inc., which operates a Pizza Inn in Greeneville, Tenn., and a Dairy Queen in Bulls Gap, Tenn.

Christi Million, a graduate of East Tennessee State University who worked in the Pizza Inn in Greeneville since 2002, where she served as manager since 2004, will be the Dobson Dairy Queen manager.

Douthat said he and Million believe their most notable successes have been their community involvement, giving out good grades awards to students every nine weeks, and their fundraising activities through their Pizza Inn Tuesday night fundraisers, which have raised more than $100,000 for community churches, schools and charitable organizations.
