Mr. James Raymond Johnson was born in Mt. Airy on February 18th, 1920 to Mr and Mrs. Jake Johnson. Raymond attended Mt. Airy High School and eventually followed his calling and joined the United States Army in 1941. He was stationed in Camp Shank New York and left for the WWII European battle front in 1942. Raymond proudly severed his country and left active serviced as a Highly Decorated Staff Sergant in 1947. Upon returning to the States, Raynond married and had a family in which he raised in the Baptist faith. Raymond is now retired and spends his days with his wife, Iva, and new puppy Amos.
