During an event Saturday night at the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History, Leslie Green, president of the North Carolina Square and Round Dance Association, presented a $39,000 check to Mountain Valley Hospice. Over the past 17 years, the association has donated more than $1 million to Hospice in the state. This year, the local Mayberry Squares of Mount Airy contributed $1,100 to the cause. Receiving the check is Sheila Young of Mountain Valley Hospice.
