Man charged with violating sex offender laws
A registered sex offender living near a day care operation in Surry County has been arrested and charged with violating sex offender registry laws. Surry County Sheriff Graham Atkinson said deputies arrested Anthony Xavier Bowser, 22, of 1908 Cardinal Drive, Mount Airy, NC. on Monday. Surry Arts Council will hold auditions for the musical rendition of “Cinderella” on Monday and Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Male and female parts are available for ages 8 and older. A fire destroyed a single-wide trailer at 3389 Haystack Road Wednesday afternoon.
