Alzheimers Mount Airy walk raises awareness of disease
The first Annual Alzheimer’s North Carolina Mount Airy Walk was undeterred by light rain Sunday afternoon. Communications and Development Director Richard Hiatt estimated more than 200 walkers participated in the inaugural event. Hiatt expected $2,500 to be raised to benefit local families and patients suffering with the disease. Postal food drive delivers record total
Totals for this year’s food drive by local mail carriers were still being tallied at last report, but one thing is clear: a record amount was collected.
