Regional Business Development Manager/Advertising Manager
Nathan DiBagno has worked in the newspaper industry in advertising, news and circulation. He currently serves as the Regional Business Development Manager and Advertising Manager for The Mount Airy News, The Elkin Tribune, The Yadkin Ripple, The Stokes News, The Carroll News, The Jefferson Post, The Weekly Independent, and The Pilot. DiBagno previously worked as the General Manager and Editor for The Elkin Tribune. He graduated with his bachelor's in journalism from Bob Jones University in 2005 and earned his MBA from North Greenville University in 2012. He also took several classes in web design and search engine optimization. He enjoys reading business and entrepreneurship magazines and publications and learning about ways to help businesses grow. He and his wife Elizabeth have two children, Jaden and Katie.
John Peters, Editor, has worked at the Mount Airy News for four years. He recently took on the additional duties of Regional Editor for Civitas Media and, while he greatly enjoys editing and working with his staff, he still counts among his favorite parts of the job finding that gem of a story in unusual places, or talking with people who can tell him what local life was like 30 or 50 (or more) years ago. He and his wife have five children and an always-changing number of assorted other creatures.
Regional Office Manager and Regional Circulation Manager
Ferris Simpson has worked with The Mount Airy News for 24 years and serves as Office Manager and Circulation Manager. An accounting graduate of UNC-Charlotte, he supervises the bookkeeping and circulation departments for The Mount Airy News. He also oversees bookkeeping and circulation for area papers in Pilot Mountain, N.C., Hillsville, Va., Stokes, N.C., Elkin, N.C., Yadkin, N.C. and West Jefferson, N.C. Ferris and his wife Linda reside in Pilot Mountain.
Creative Services Manager
Lois S. Tilley, Creative Services Manager, studied Commercial Art & Advertising at Winsalm College. In addition to being a graphic artist she also enjoys creating art traditionally - namely calligraphy, illustration and portraiture. She and her husband Eddie live in the Ararat community and are members of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She enjoys spending time with her family, which includes daughters, Sarah and Amy, son-in-law, Jake, and grandson Gavin.
Daryl Mumford, Production Director, has worked with the Mount Airy News for 10 years of his 25 years print production experience. He has a Business Management Degree from Ashworth University. Daryl oversees the printing, packaging, and equipment repairs/maintenance for the Mount Airy News and is a troubleshooter for the company's multiple print plants. Daryl and his wife Jessica live in Mount Airy and have two children.
Brenda Van Deusen
Brenda Van Deusen, advertising account executive, moved to the Mount Airy area three years ago, and enjoys working with her customers here. Brenda has 10 years experience in marketing and serves customers in the Mount Airy area as well as Pilot Mountain. "I know our newspapers, magazines and online websites work for our customers. Nikki Cannoy, advertising account executive, is a lifelong resident of Lambsburg, Va. Nikki has six years experience in marketing and serves customers in Mount Airy and the surrounding areas. Nikki is married to Stephen and has two children, Hayden 8 and Hannah 4. When not working, Nikki enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends and being outdoors. Wanda Walls, advertising account executive, has recently transferred to Mount Airy from our sister paper, the Elkin Tribune. I worked with the Tribune and Yadkin Ripple for five years and another paper for ten years before coming to Elkin. It has been exciting to meet new folks in "Mayberry", it is a great town! Mary G. Good, advertising account executive, is a Mount Airy native, and has been back home for over 21 years. A graduate of Mount Airy High School, she attended Surry Community College majoring in Elementary Education. While living in Morehead City, N. C. she attended Carteret Community College.
