North Surry’s Shawn DeHart has chosen Averett University to play football this fall. DeHart is the second Greyhound to announce his college choice. Punter Austin Barker recently announced that he is attending Lenoir-Rhyne. “They contacted me in December,” Coach Danny Lyons said of the university’s recruiting efforts. Surry Knights finish second round of golf nationals; start third
SCOTTSBORO, Ala. — The Surry Community College men’s golf team finished 15th after the second round of the NJCAA Division II National Tournament. Surry Storm teams win state hoops titles
Two age groups of the Surry Storm AAU basketball teams have won state championships in the AYBA Tournament. The fifth-grade and 11th-grade teams each won their brackets in Concord recently in the American Youth Basketball Association championship. North Surry planning youth football camp
North Surry is planning its fourth annual youth football camp for mid-July. The Greyhounds camp will be July 15-17 from 6 to 8 p.m. The camp is open to students from rising fourth-graders to rising eighth-graders, said Head Coach Danny Lyons. The cost is $30.
