Tickets are going quickly for a New Year’s event that not only promises a night of fun, but will benefit the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History as well.

According to Matt Edwards, the museum’s director, those who are planning to attend should go ahead and get their tickets.

“Planning is coming along fantastically for it. We have been working closely with our sponsors. It should be a great evening for anyone who hasn’t yet made New Year’s plans,” said Edwards.

Music for the event will be provided by RainJacket. There will be a champagne toast at midnight and all of the usual New Year’s decor and noise makers, Edwards said.

The event starts at 9 p.m., but the winery’s deli will be open early for those who would like to come ahead of time for a bite to eat.

“This is a great opportunity to come out and support downtown businesses and local non-profits and have a lot of fun at the same time,” said Edwards.

He said seating is limited as the winery’s capacity is 250 guests. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets are available at Old North State Winery, at the museum, B&L Custom Jewelers and through any of the museum board members. The museum will be open this week Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
