Beamer

MOUNT AIRY — Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Hill Beamer, 102, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011, at the Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Beamer was born in Surry County, May 11, 1909, to James Everett and Priscilla Beasley Hill. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Beamer was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was retired from Renfro Corp. Surviving is a daughter, Rachel Ramey of Winston-Salem; a son and daughter-in-law, Woodrow and Mary Ruth Beamer of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Sheila Kegley, Johnny Ray Beamer and Melissa Creed; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Myrtle Wagoner of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beamer was preceded in death by her husband, John Beamer; a granddaughter, Kathy Simpson; three sisters and seven brothers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dean Eaton and the Rev. Cecil Hill. Burial will follow in Maple Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Woodrow Beamer.
