CANA, Va. — Mrs. Sally Jane Hawks Horton, 56, of 335 Rocky Ridge Road, Cana, widow of Mr. Michael Ray Horton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born May 28, 1955, in Carroll County to the late Howard and Hazel Hawks. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Amanda Horton of Laurel Fork; four grandchildren, Michaela Horton, Cody Horton, Olivia Horton and Dylan Horton, all of Laurel Fork; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennie and Janice Hawks of Cana and Charles and Gail Hawks of Cana; special friends, Kenneth Jones of Cana, Cherie Horton of Riner and Linda Simon of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Paul’s Creek Baptist Church conducted by Mr. Dennie Hawks and the Rev. Albert Everidge. The family will receive friends 12:30 p.m. Friday until time of the service at Paul’s Creek Baptist Church. Moody Funeral Service is assisting the Horton family.
