The name of the man who was displaced in a Tuesday night fire at 711 Rockford Street was released on Wednesday.
Douglas Galloway was listed as the occupant of the home that caught fire shortly after 8 p.m. The total damage was estimated at $30,000 and the contents were listed as $5,000. According to Mount Airy Fire Chief Zane Poindexter, the blaze began as a chimney fire.
