• The Goodwill store on Rockford Street was the scene of a theft Wednesday, according to Mount Airy Police Department reports. Joyce Renee Wagoner, a resident of Wayne Street, told police that her Samsung U.S. Cellular cell phone and an OtterBox telephone case were taken after being left behind at the store unsecured.
• A case of larceny and possession of stolen property was reported Wednesday, involving two people taking canned air from Walmart earlier in the week. They were found in possession of the merchandise, but no violations had been filed at last report.
• The theft of a car was reported last Saturday from the home of Albert Wilson Key Jr. on Hamburg Street, where a red 1975 Cadillac Coupe DeVille valued at $800 was removed from the driveway. No license plate was issued for the vehicle, according to police records.
• A Visa debit card and $235 in cash were reported stolen from a desk drawer Saturday at Arjay Personal Computers on Rockford Street. An unknown individual is thought to be responsible.
• Nathaniel Joseph Tyler, 18, of 261 E. Lebanon St., was served with a criminal summons Saturday on a violation of second-degree trespassing. The complainant is Omer Vipperman, another resident of East Lebanon Street. Tyler is scheduled to appear in Surry District Court on May 4.
• A larceny was reported last Friday at a location on Rockford Street, where a prescription for hydrocodone is said to have been stolen from a 1998 Ford Windstar van. The victim of the crime is listed as William Michael Draughn of Elkin.
