• The Surry Arts Council presents clogging workshops and classes taught by Samantha Wilhelmi. These clogging lessons are perfect for all ages and dance abilities, from beginner to advanced. Workshops will be held before the monthly Old-Time Dances in the Old-Time Music Hall, below the Andy Griffith Museum in Mount Airy, 218 Rockford St., from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The workshop is free with the purchase of a dance ticket. The dance starts at 7 p.m. and admission is $5. Popular old-time dance band The Slate Mountain Ramblers will provide the music for the dance. The Old-Time Dance and Clogging Workshop are held on the first Saturday of every month. Also, Wilhelmi is teaching clogging classes every Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Surry Arts Council dance room. • The Surry Arts Council presents The Andy Griffith Museum. The museum is adjacent to the Andy Griffith Playhouse, 218 Rockford St., Mount Airy. Eng and Chang Bunker, the world famous pair of conjoined twins, lived most of their lives and raised their families in Mount Airy. Dozens of Bunker descendants still reside in the area. The Surry Arts Council operates an exhibit on the renowned Siamese Twins. The collection is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is a minimum donation of $3 per person. • The American Legion Riders of the American Legion Post 123 of Mount Airy are selling tickets for an Old Henry 22 Lever Action rifle, octagon barrel, Golden Boy. Tickets are $1 each or 12 for $10. • The Pilot Knob Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual tractor and truck pull at 1467 Mitchell Road, Pilot Mountain. Gates open at 10 a.m. and the show begins at noon. There also will be a kiddy tractor pull using a scaled-down pedal tractor. Admission is $5, or six canned food items per person, and kids age 12 and younger admitted free with paying adult. Last year, the funding provided $40,000 to Northern Hospital of Surry County for mammograms, and in the past, Surry Health and Nutrition Center has received more than $300,000 for breast cancer screenings.

• The Mount Airy Museum of Regional History will host “History Talks: How the Confederacy Funded the War” at 2 p.m. featuring Gary Cook, a long-time collector and amateur historian of the Confederate monetary system and banking in the Old South. Part of his collection of Confederate money and bonds will be on display. This is a free event.

• Muevelo - Latin Dance Party will be from 7 to 11:59 p.m. in the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History Annex, 144 W. Oak St. Doors open at 7 p.m., dance lessons start at 8 p.m. (no partner is necessary), and it is an open dance floor from 9 p.m. to midnight. Admission is $5 at the door with those attending required to be 18-years-old or older. IDs will be checked at the door. A cash bar will be available from Round Peak Vineyards. Refreshments from Miss Angel’s Heavenly Pies will be sold as well. Dress can be casual, but classy, no T-shirts or caps.
