Staff Report

Wet weather on Tuesday and Wednesday caused several schedules to change. Here is a rundown of changes as reported by the coaches.

Tuesday’s baseball game between Mount Airy and Surry Central only lasted half of one inning before the storms hit. They will resume their game at 5 p.m. today.

North Surry’s baseball game could have finished on Tuesday, but the teams went to extra innings. The Greyhounds and West Stokes were tied 8-all in the top of the ninth. The teams will finish the game Monday at 4:30 p.m.

The Hounds were set to play on Wednesday, too, but that game with Reagan has been canceled with no makeup date.

The Lady Hounds will travel to Reagan today to make up their softball game.

The Hounds were in the first half of their soccer game with South Stokes when the game was halted. Coach Dustin Webb said he wasn’t sure when the two teams could get together to finish that.

East Surry had a soccer game with Elkin on Tuesday. Since that was a nonconference match, the teams will not reschedule.

The Lady Cardinals had reached the fifth inning of a softball game with South Stokes. The Cards were up 1-0 at the time. The game will resume Monday at Walnut Cove.

The Card baseball team will travel to South Stokes tonight for a 7 p.m. makeup game.

Wednesday was supposed to be Senior Night for the Surry Central softball team, but that game was canceled. No information is available yet on when Senior Night will take place.

All four local golf teams were supposed to play at South Stokes’ home course Wednesday, but that match will take place this afternoon.
