WALNUT COVE — Taylor Coalson tied for top honors again, but Bishop McGuinness took the team title at Hemlock Golf Course Thursday.
The North Surry senior has finished at the top several times this season and tied with South Stokes’ Wesley Lineberry at 3-under 32.
The match was at the Sauras’ home course, helping them to a second-place finish, just four strokes behind the Villains.
Behind Coalson, the Greyhounds finished third, just one shot behind the Sauras.
East Surry was fourth, four shots behind the Hounds. Senior Dustin Holder posted the Cardinals’ top score at 37, good for a sixth-place tie, while Joseph Marion shot 38.
The Bears’ Cody Hodges tied for third with a 2-under 33. Mount Airy was fifth, three shots behind the Cards. The top five teams were only 12 strokes apart.
Surry Central was sixth, a shot ahead of West Stokes and 10 ahead of North Stokes.
