To The Editor,
I first would like to say shame on the folks who steal political signs!!! I don’t know why people think stealing campaign signs is worthy of breaking a sweat over.
Again, shame be on the persons responsible for perpetrating an act that would stifle another citizen’s right to free speech, and the right of said citizens to support the candidate of their choice. Freedom of speech certainly allows supporters of candidates to obey the local laws and place their signs accordingly. Perhaps the person(s) stealing the signs object to signs being posted in our town? It is withOUT “some” surprise that I drive up and down streets and not a single real estate sign, yard sale sign, bingo sign or any other type of sign is NOT being stolen or disappearing.
With the above being said, I would like to introduce the name Dan Forest to you. Dan is running for NC Lt. Governor in this year’s election. Dan is a strong fiscal and social conservative, entrepreneur, businessman, husband, and father. He lives in Raleigh with his wife Alice and their four children. Though he comes from a political family, Dan’s mom is Congresswoman Sue Myrick, Dan is not a professional politician: his background is in business. He is a former senior partner and office president with North Carolina’s largest architectural firm.
In a day and age of 30 second sound bites and commercials, our belief is that people want more… they want to know a person is real. That is why the campaign has been focused on the old-school belief in the value of personal relationships, and why they are trying to earn people’s vote by putting in the hard work.
So far, Dan has visited 92 counties and has driven over 100,000 miles in this race. I know that Dan will continue to put in the hard work when he is in office, and because of this, will be a fantastic Lieutenant Governor. When Dan is elected, we can call him “Lieutenant Dan,” but for now, and on May 8th, just remember, “Run, Forest, Run”!
