ALLENDER

PILOT MOUNTAIN — Mr. Austin Jay “A.J.” Allender, 25, of 137 Cook School Road, Pilot Mountain, passed away at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Danbury. He was born April 20, 1987, in Cambridge, Ohio, to Keith Allender and Lisa Ann Allender Elliott. He was employed by Dan River Company. Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Lisa Ann and Jasper Elliott of Pilot Mountain; father, Keith Allender of Cambridge, Ohio; sister, Natalie Francis, and a brother, Ben Francis, both of Murrysville, W.Va.; a half brother, Avery Allender of Cambridge; stepsister and husband, Evelyn Faye and Glenn Butler of Lambsburg, Va.; grandparents, Joyce Crouser of Lexington, John Couser of St. Mary’s, W.Va., and Bill and Janet Allender of Cambridge; and great-grandparents, Mary Knapp of Havelock. Mr. Allender was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Roy D. Knapp. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Mandy Santolla. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. Sunday until time of the service at Moody Funeral Home.
