Mount Airy Fire and Police personnel work an accident scene Tuesday near Walmart in Mount Airy. According to MAPD Officer J.W. Cox, this Chevy Blazer came to rest on Forest Drive after striking a Mazda from Virginia traveling on U.S. 601. The injured were transported to Northern Hospital of Surry County. The driver of the Blazer was identified as Kyle Moser of 205 Fireside Lane, Mount Airy.

This Mazda was involved in an accident on U.S. 601 Tuesday. According to MAPD Officer J.W. Cox, a witness stated that the car proceeded through a green light and was struck by a Blazer turning left. The resulting impact left the blazer on its side while the Mazda traveled some distance further. Injured were transported to Northern Hospital with the Blazer driver possibly needing stitches to an arm. The driver of the Mazda was identified as Glen McMillian of 8438 Wards Gap Road, Cana, Va.
