DOBSON — The Dobson Diamonds softball team has won the 10-and-under Foothills Fast Pitch league tournament.
This is the third year in a row the Diamonds have won the league title, according to coaches Travis Shreve and Tealisha Shreve.
“They went undefeated throughout the entire season,” noted Tealisha Shreve. Then they swept through the tournament May 21-26 at Surry Central High School.
In the championship game, the Diamonds beat the Franklin Storm 11-2. Third place went to the Shoals Indians.
“These girls have put forth a lot of time, hard work, dedication and heart for their softball team,” said the coach. The players this season were Autumn Embry, Haily Robertson, Beth Thompson, Savana Thompson, Megan Atkins, Hailie Holt, Bryana Davis, Abby Nina, Taylor Snow, Jordan Snow, and Jenna Simpson.
