Quilt Show & Textile Day set for Saturday at Horne Creek Farm

PINNACLE — An exhibit called, “Common Threads: 150 Years of North Carolina Quilts,” will open this Saturday at Horne Creek Living Historical Farm.

Visitors also can watch volunteers demonstrate weaving, bobbin lace making and tatting. There will be a number of clothing items from the early 20th century on display as well.

There will be experts on-hand that day to give advice on the care and conservation on textiles, tips on storing and caring for quilts and stories related to the creation of several specific quilts.

Basket making also will be on display.

The park’s “Quilt Show and Textile Day” is part of the 2nd Saturday series of programming at the park.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is a free event.

To get to the park, take the Pinnacle exit off U.S. 52 and follow the Horne Creek historic markers. The address is 308 Horne Creek Farm Road, Pinnacle.
