Sales totaled 400 head, including cattle (336), goats (58) and sheep (6), during Tuesday’s sales at Mount Airy Stockyards Inc.
Animals sold on the livestock market, based on 100-pound weights, were:
• Slaughter cows: utility and commercial, $71.50-$88; cutter and boning, $58-$65.
• Slaughter bulls: 1,000-1,500 pounds, $72-$102; 1,500 pounds and up, $92-$104.
• Stock cows: none.
• Cow/calf pairs: none.
• Baby calves: $50-$110.
• Feeder steers and bulls: 300-400 pounds, (M1) $126-$138; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $125-$148.50, (small frame) $123; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $115-$136, (small frame) $112; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $107.50-$121.50; 700 pounds and up, (M1) $107-$121.
• Feeder heifers: 300-400 pounds, (M1) $141-$142; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $130-$145; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $128-$131, (small frame) $130; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $99-$114; 700 pounds and up, (M1) $105-$112.
• Goats: kids, $27.50-$75; others, $65-$87; large billy, $105-$160.
