North Surry won its home opener in soccer 9-0 over East Wilkes Monday.

The Greyhounds scored early and often in the first half, running off two goals in rapid succession about 10 minutes into the first half.

Mitchell Midkiff scored three times in the first half as the Hounds built an 8-0 lead.

Then in the second half, North scored again to end the night early.

When these two teams met in Ronda last week, the Hounds ran off an 8-2 win with Midkiff getting four goals.

Soccer Coach Dustin Webb accepted the assistant principal position at Pilot Mountain Middle School this summer. The Hounds are now being coached by Rachel Escobar.
