PILOT MOUNTAIN — Mr. Gary Chester Holder, 75, of 271 Boyles St., Pilot Mountain, husband of Mrs. Joye Norman Holder, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at his home. He was born Oct. 21, 1936, in Surry County to the late Arley and Della Hall Holder. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was retired from Wilson Pest Control. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Joye N. Holder of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and the Rev. Ty Harrison of Hillsville, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Kim Holder of Mount Airy, Kelly and Jill Holder of Mount Airy and Gwen Holder of Mount Airy; seven grandchildren, Joye Harrison, Elizabeth Harrison and Lydia Harrison, all of Hillsville, and Mady Holder, Alex Holder, Logan Holder and Ian Holder, all of Mount Airy; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Gene Bennett of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and a sister in-law and husband, Joyce N. and Jerry Parker of Maryville, Tenn. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mount Airy conducted by the Rev. Chris McMillian, the Rev. Noel Hawks, the Rev. Mike Parker and the Rev. Ty Harrison. Burial will follow in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Moody Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 1032, Mount Airy, NC 27030; or to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
